Ghost Light PodcastEpisode 4.11 – Utah Opera Supernumeraries Break Their Silence
In Episode 4.11 of the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera Ghost Light Podcast, co-hosts Jeff Counts and Carol Anderson interview Supernumeraries Dominic Barsi and Steve Moga, who are frequently seen on the Utah Opera stage as supernumeraries.
Supernumeraries (supers) in an opera are similar to extras in a film. They add a dramatic presence without singing or speaking any text. Dominic and Steve have collectively performed in more than 30 productions as supers, and now they get to break their silence to talk about their role in opera!
You will hear their stories of joining the Utah Opera family, their tales of what happens during rehearsal and performances, and their feelings about the world of opera.
